The Vista Sol Chuckwagon Crew: Food, Fire & Feast

Join us at The Vista Sol for a hands-on, sensory-friendly journey through the history of food, fire and the American Chuckwagon.

Participants will become members of The Vista Sol Chuckwagon Crew as they discover how the use of fire changed human life, learn basic fire safety and grilling skills, explore how growing food changed the way people lived, and hear the story of the chuckwagon cooks or 'Cookie' as they were called, who kept cattle-drive crews fed on the American trail.

Along the way, participants will help prepare colorful vegetable skewers, watch a ranch-style lunch cook over the fire and learn how heat transforms the color, texture, aroma and flavor of food.

Then we'll gather together to enjoy:

Mini Ranch Garlic Chicken Skewers
Fire-Roasted Vegetable Skewers
Fresh Sourdough

Our adventure ends at the firepit with a build-your-own s’mores station and a cozy fireside finish.

The experience is designed to encourage curiosity, confidence, participation and teamwork. Guests are welcome to participate at their own comfort level, with opportunities to learn through seeing, smelling, touching, tasting and doing.

Older Kids — $40 per participant
Neurodivergent Young Adults & Adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities — $55 per participant

A spark becomes a flame, simple ingredients become a feast, and curiosity becomes confidence.
